Tokyo, Japan 31st Oct-6th Nov 2010

several things that i missed about Tokyo:
1. the weather!good heavens that when i came back, singapore having its monsoon season.i miss the cool weather,it's like you're in an air conditioned room when you step outside.
2. the service!the service there was pretty good compared to Singapore.the cashier speaks softly, yes even the guys.they always thank you.i like it when they give your change, they will always give you the notes first, then the coins.
3.the weird(in a good way) fashion sense of the Japanese people. they wear anything and everything without caring about what people might be thinking of them.i saw a lady who wore hair curlers out.the weirder, the better.it was really nice to see every single Japanese people dressed up, unlike Singaporeans who wear their smelly boxers to buy mcd breakfast.seriously.
4. i miss their clean toilets and the toilet seats!their toilets are generally clean and it does not stink.none of the toilets that i went to stinks even the one in the park, which was a bit dirty but still doesnt stinks.i also miss the warmth feeling the toilet seats gave when i woke up every morning at 5
(solat subuh) feeling cold.
5. Japanese people talking.i loved it when i am surrounded by Japanese people talking.when they talk, it sounded nice and bearable to the ears unlike china people talking, with their accent so thick.

okay that's it.sorry i have been talking about Tokyo since i came back.pardon me, this is my first time going anywhere beyond Malaysia and i was very excited.it has left a huge impact on my life. i will never forget the 6 days i had in Tokyo.

Friday, November 12, 2010

today was crazy.came to school at 9.45am, get started with work, hungry but no time to eat, failed plan, got scolded by ricky, proceeded to plan B,works perfectly alhamdullilah, work till almost 2pm and still got scolded by ricky, still no lunch, just a bread to keep curb the hunger, help Q out till 3pm.3-5pm,waiting plus rushing to submission and i'm finally done with the day.the day ended nicely with kat and ruifen, having our coffee and bread at ya kunya toast Lot 1, talk and talk, looked around for wallet and shoes and home sweet home.

no plans for tomorrow means stay at home and update on my Japan trip and watch movies and glee and attempt on my essay :)

happy weekend
I miss being in Tokyo..i miss the feeling of being far away, from my family, from you somehow..

10 Tips on How to be a Successful Wife
Written by Muhammad al-Shareef  via IdealMuslimah

10. Use your ‘Fitnah’ to win the heart of your husband
All women have the ornaments that Allah blessed them with. Use the beauty Allah - Azza wa Jal - has bestowed you with to win the heart of your husband.

9. When your husband comes home, greet him with a wonderful greeting
Imagine your husband coming home to a clean house, an exquisitely dressed wife, a dinner prepared with care, children clean and sweet smelling, a clean bedroom - what would this do to his love for you? Now imagine what the opposite does to him.

8. Review the characteristics of the Hoor Al-Ayn and try to imitate them
The Qur’an and Sunnah describe the women in Jannah with certain characteristics. Such as the silk they wear, their large dark eyes, their singing to their husband, etc. Try it, wear silk for your husband, put Kohl in your eyes to ‘enlarge’ them, and sing to your husband.

7. Always wear jewelry and dress up in the house.

From the early years, little girls have adorned themselves with earrings and bracelets and worn pretty dresses - as described in the Qur’an. As a wife, continue to use the jewelry that you have and the pretty dresses for your husband.

6. Joke and play games with your husband.
A mans secret: they seek women who are light-hearted and have a sense of humor. As Rasul Allah - sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam - told Jabir to marry someone who would make him laugh and he would make her laugh.

5. Thank your husband constantly for the nice things he does.
Then thank him again. This is one of the most important techniques, as the opposite is a characteristic of the women of hellfire.

4. An argument is a fire in the house.
Extinguish it with a simple ‘I’m sorry’ even if it is not your fault.
When you fight back, you are only adding wood to the fire. Watch how sweetly an argument will end when you just say sincerely, “Look, I’m sorry. Let’s be friends.”

3. Always seek to please your husband, for he is your key to Jannah.
Rasul Allah - sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam - taught us that any women who dies in a state where her husband is pleased with her, shall enter Jannah. So .. please him.

2. Listen and Obey!
Obeying your husband is Fard [a must]! Your husband is the Ameer [head] of the household. Give him that right and respect.

1. Make Dua to Allah to make your marriage and relationship successful.
All good things are from Allah. Never forget to ask Allah ta’ala for the blessing of having a successful marriage that begins in this Dunya and continues on - by the Mercy of Allah ta’ala - into Jannah.

i love how Islam teaches us to treat your husband with full of undying love and care.Your husband is your priority in life.Indeed, the path to heaven is treat your husband well and with such utmost respect.I like traditional wife who treats their husband to cup of tea whenever he is working home or giving him a massage when he is tired.

Oh well, whoever marries me will be lucky :p HAHAH kidding!!

Saturday, October 16, 2010

i'm very strict when it comes to planning.i'm a scheduled person.my life is followed by a set of timetable.what time to wake up, what time to eat, what time to watch tv,how long, what time to do my assignment, how long to do it and what time to sleep. it may sound like an uptight life,or yes i may sound like an uptight person.i'm pretty strict with what i have planned out for myself or what others have planned out for me.i do not like my plans to be meddled.i'm not a spontaneous person, i tried and do sometimes be a spontaneous person.when a person make plans with me they better stick with it. i'm also very particular with time. if you decide to meet me at a certain time, you better dont cancel last minute on me and change to another time unless it's serious circumstances.you already have guessed that i do not like last minute.it's better to be inform early, say two hours earlier.i like stringent plans.you can say it's a bad thing,or that i should live life spontaneously cause it's more fun. well, my arguement is that i find ease when my time is planned out and i know what is going to happen.i like to be prepared.but the problem is now having a boyfriend who prefers spontaneity.the challenge, how do we balanced it out? for me,i take pleasure(and sometimes pain hahah) in having someone who works differently from me.he can do what i cannot do and he cannot do what i can do.to balance it out, i accept spontaneity from time to time and try having fun with it.i'm able to do it when i'm with him.for him, vice versa. didn't mean to type this but this is what came out when K decided to push the timing to meet me from 5 to 6pm.

Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem

read this - history of al-aqsa

As a Muslim, we all know that this one of the holiest place in the world as it where our Prophet Muhammad SAW was ascended to the heaven to meet Allah himself.

the reason why i was researching about this mosque was because K told me about some of the history of Al-Aqsa and i wanted to know more of it. it is such a rich history that it's unsettling. many lives have been sacrificed due the sacredness of the mosque/place. it does not pertain to Islam only but the history has included the other two religion, Jews and Christians. the war over the mosque had happened for a period of many years. the Muslim felt the need to protect the mosque because of an event that is most sacred. it looks to me like fighting for property that seemed to be beyond valuable but which one is the rightful owner? that is what happened in the past. they fight, they conquer.

now, it has become a place for all three religion to come and witness for its history. it is also rightfully belonged to the Muslims.

i wished i had know this a long time ago..and i wished to know more about the history of Islam. one day, i would like to come and visit this mosque, InsyaAllah..

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/home/you/article-1301921/Weve-gone-degree-Why-university-longer-passport-success.html

I really liked this article that i read weeks ago.it's very inspiring how people worked their way to their dreams.personally i think in Singapore, the way to success and climb the ladder on top is to be very educated hence having a degree.it is still relevant and you sure do earn a lot more only by your qualifications.there arent many opportunities in Singapore and i wished it could be different.finding a job that you want is never easy.people do not looked for what they want anymore.as long as they have a job, they are fine with it.what is more inspiring about the article is how young they are..they are definitely courageous and focused on what they wanted to do in life.
hmmm..interesting.how i wish i could be one of them..

It's a wrap!

this year was all about polaroids

2am in the morning under my blok.

last weekend was the last of raya visiting.now..now,can i have a proper date with K?

Wednesday, September 22, 2010

i could not imagine how next year would be like for me after my graduation.it is like the period when i was waiting for my O levels result.at that point of time, while i was waiting,i could not know how life will turn out for me until i received my results and got into polytechnic.i am very anxious because my last year in poly is nearing to an end, faster than i thought.i am closing this chapter of my life and opening a new one soon in about less than 6 months time.it is affecting me everytime i am closer to graduation.when the chapter closes and i am opening a new one, this is where i do not want the history to repeat.it will be the time for me step up and all the being bravery, confident talk will need to be put in an action.i am even scared of myself, scared that all the talk, the dreams will go to waste.that i just end up letting myself down.while everyone else out there is feeling sad that poly is going to end and they will miss their friends and such, here i am not.i know i have been talking about post-grad but this post-grad will be the definition of my life and the ramifications if things doesnt go the way i plan will be impactful than ever.

as for now,i am going to enjoy the remains of my "teenage" life and prays very hard. everything is now in God's hands and i am leaving to Him to know what is best for me.
hopefully if i don't get what i want at least just let me marry K.(opps did i say that?hahahah!)

Thursday, September 16, 2010

now school is over for a good 5 weeks.i am finally free for a while.i want to spend my time wisely and since working is out of question(i didn't get any job,sad huh)i have to think of something else to do to keep me busy and sane.thank God,raya visiting is filling my schedule if not i will just die of boredom.i seriously cannot see myself as a stay-home mam.right now,i am adjusting to myself to having absolutely nothing to do.i was thinking of going for sewing class(my mam would gladly sponsor)but i guess i rather her use her money for my Japan trip.heheh.maybe i will start baking experiments or even start jogging..maybe baby.

alright, this is quite a pathetic post.be back with my raya photos not that you care..

Tuesday, August 31, 2010

it's been quite sometime since i blog.i'm out of topic i guess.
instead of doing my journal i am listing the things i need in coming time.Since i have not been making lists lets make one right now.i used to do it but i stopped making lists of things i needed/wanted because i end up not buying most of the things on the list.but i'm bored you see,so here it goes:

1. A long dress.i cannot stop buying long dresses.it's very comfortable and airy.heheh.
2. A short dress or a top.i know,it's lame but my priority will always be on clothes.
3. A new wallet.i can't be using that same old LV(fake somemore).it has been years already i guess.
4.Pump shoes. This is because my 10 bucks shoes is torn and i need a good shoe for my coming trip.
5.A cheap but really good boots, for my upcoming trip as well.
6.Cheap shawl(s) for upcoming trip.

okay i think that's it for now.You know,i realized that i am very good with my wants and needs.i know how to prioritize and i have been spending wisely,as i would like to think.my temptations are being curbed very well.hahah okay it's because i do not work and i don't get a lot from my parents.hopefully in the years to come,i'm not one of those stuck-up women who only wear and buy branded goods but behind those facade, impending debts from credit card usage.

okay,update soon.

i'm not making full use of my holiday..critique on monday, who the hell cares?

Tuesday, August 24, 2010

the other day, i was on my way home, back from school.it was such a hot and tiring day in school, cause we had to clean the studio and i had to go to and fro, to the workshop and dungeon.i felt so thirsty and my mouth is dry. i had a bottle of coke with me for my brother and it looked tempting enough.it made me realised how blessed i am that i get to at least drink clean water everyday.i realised that i have been complaining too much on food."this food is not nice","this food is tasteless", "oh i don't eat that".at least i had food.i think after this,i try not to complain about how bad the food is at foodcourt 1 or anywhere else.

Why Should the Muslim Women Wear Hijab

1.You please Allah. You are obeying the commands of your Lord when you wear the hijaab and you can expect great rewards in return.

2.It is Allah’s protection of your natural beauty. You are too precious to be ‘on display’ for each man to see.

3.It is Allah’s preservation of your chastity.

4.Allah purifies your heart and mind through the hijaab.

5.Allah beautifies your inner and outer countenance with hijaab. Outwardly your hijaab reflects innocence, purity, modesty, shyness, serenity, contentment and obedience to your Lord. Inwardly you cultivate the same.

6.Allah defines your femininity through the hijaab. You are a woman who respects her womanhood. Allah wants you to be respected by others, and for you to respect yourself.

7.Allah raises your dignity through the hijaab. When a strange man looks at you, he respects you because he sees that you respect yourself.

8.Allah protects your honour 100% through your hijaab. Men do not gaze at you in a sensual way, they do not approach you in a sensual way, and neither do they speak to you in a sensual way. Rather, a man holds you in high esteem and that is just by one glance at you!

9.Allah gives you nobility through the hijaab. You are noble not degraded because you covered not naked.

10.Allah demonstrates your equality as a Muslim woman through the hijaab. Your Lord bestows upon you equal worth as your male counterpart, and gives you a host of beautiful rights and liberties. You express your acceptance of these unique rights by putting on the hijaab.

11.Allah defines your role as a Muslim woman through the hijaab. You are a someone with important duties. You are a reflection of a woman of action not idle pursuits. You display your sense of direction and purpose through your hijaab. You are someone that people take seriously.

12.Allah expresses your independence through the hijaab. You are stating clearly that you are an obedient servant of the Greatest Master. You will obey no one else and follow no other way. You are not a slave to any man, nor a slave to any nation. You are free and independent from all man-made systems.

13.Allah gives you the freedom of movement and expression through the hijaab. You are able to move about and communicate without fear of harassment. Your hijaab gives you a unique confidence.

14.Allah wants others to treat you – a Muslim woman - with kindness. And the hijaab brings about the best treatment of men towards you.

15.Allah wants your beauty to be preserved and saved for just one man to enjoy – your husband.

16.Allah helps you to enjoy a successful marriage through wearing hijaab. Because you reserve your beauty for one man alone, your husband’s love for you increases, he cherishes you more, he respects you more and he honours you more. So your hijaab contributes to a successful and lasting marriage relationship.

17.Allah brings about peace and stability in the society through the hijaab! Yes this is true! Men do not cause corruption by forming illegal relationships because you - the Muslim woman - calm their passions. When a man looks at you, he feels at ease, not tempted to fornicate.

i've been trying to write something here, about my life, about what happened the last few weeks,or what movies i watched or where did i go but i never got around posting it.i didn't know why but i don't feel like saying anything.

maybe life has been a tad uninspiring.i feel a bit tired of school but i do not want my to graduate.contradicting?yes.i'm afraid i end up doing things because there is nothing else for me to do.i want to do something to my life that makes me proud of myself, of what i will achieve.but i will leave that in the hands of Allah and i am just here to pray and pray and keep praying.my point of telling you this is that i am happy for how things are working out for K.i wish things will work out for me,that things will come to me instead of me hoping for them to come.

as for now, let's just pray that Allah will answer my prayers and He knows what's best for me.

The Objectives of Ramadan Fasting:

a) To get rid of bad habits:
Ramadan Fasting demands the strict and solid resolution to submit oneself to a special diet which, often corrects habits, harmful to the health, that we may get into, during the running year, thus to comply with a severely regulated diet and some bad habits, as a self-willed sacrifice. This is why we notice that the Holy Quran mentions patience, tolerance, will, and perseverance as being synonyms of fasting.

b) To suffer hunger thus feel the difficult life of the poor:
This endurance provokes in ourselves the feeling of association with their sorrows and deprivations. This feeling, so humane and compassionate, is much more expressive than a whole series of well-prepared speeches or well-organized public demonstrations. The rich people who never experience deprivation, discover, through fasting, the hardship imposed on needy people. Then, their hearts become more tractable, and their hands, will exercise generosity and charity towards the needy.

c) To Appreciate God's beyond measure donations:
The daylight is never enough estimated unless we endure the night darkness. Also we cannot know the real value of happiness until we lose it. So when we fast, we suffer hunger, thirst and deprivation of so many other leisure's we used to enjoy before fasting. Then, we effectively evaluate the life comforts Mighty God has gifted us with.

d) To discover the sanitary advantages:
Dr. Alexis Karlil, in his book... says: The exaggerated variety of our meals, their excessive quantities and assortments, make the alimentary regulating in the human life become ineffective. With the legislation of Fasting by all religions the humanity has known to attract notice to thousands, even millions of human beings who never know satiety. Moreover, fasting activates the blood circulation and purifies heart and soul. Besides, the modern medicine has proved that fasting is a remedy for diseases that affect the man of this century because of overeating and the variety of canned food. In this case, fasting is as being a treatment, and even a preventive at the same time.

e) Recalling of evident return to God:
In fact, Ramadan fasting is a stage where the human being is the closest to God. The fasting period, Ramadan is a time when one submits to spiritual and social changes.

f) One acquires loyalty, honesty and sincerity to God, by fasting:
Ramadan fasting is a confidential act which occurs between the human being and his Creator. This act must be impregnated with full sincerity and the deepest loyalty. Now in case fasting loses its honesty, it becomes a hypocrisy.

g) Regulating habit:
By Ramadan fasting, we acquire the habit of punctuality. We breakfast at fixed time, and we abstain from eating and drinking at a strict and special time. Moreover, becoming accustomed to regulations leads to the respect of time, of word and promise, and so one becomes trustworthy, well estimated, able to carry out one's responsibilities, and to fulfill one's social duties.

h) Spreading assistance and mutual help in the society:
Ramadan fasting inspires love and tightens links among the family members who live the whole fasting period in the same routine which approaches them to God. Habits change automatically during the period, and the family members meet in the evenings to say prayers appropriated to this holy occasion. The morals and fruitful consequences of fasting extend to the vast society, where collaboration between its members, and decent behavior are demonstrated. Charity and mutual help occupy a remarkable place, and brotherhood and equality triumph, which that is, the most human acts and the holiest purpose of the fasting.

Last Sunday with Cousins-

Today marked my Blog's 5th anniversary.Hahaha,it's pretty lame but i have been typing on this space for 5 years.i did not bother to change my blog or stop blogging because this is too precious.it contained more memories than my brain could take..i was such a kid back then(i was 14 when i started with this blog).with this blog,i saw my changes through the 5 years.this blog reminded me of good times i had in my secondary school when i bothered to type down everything that happened.it reminded of who i used to be or still am and will be in the future.
