this is for queen. queen, as i've observed for two days, the life of an interior designer is not only sitting on the desk doing quotations and drafting. my supervisor, she's an interior designer. she is not on her desk all day, in fact she's always out doing site visit, meeting clients, probably meeting with people that handle materials. i think in a day, she only sit at the desk for less than 5 hours. in the case, if you have a lot of projects. however, you can never run away from cad but for 3d, you can cause you can ask someone else to do it :) hope this info helps you.
